Before you get started

What is the difference between SMS and MMS?

SMS carries text. MMS can include supported media. Message length, encoding, media and carrier requirements affect how a message is handled and charged.

Does sent mean delivered?

No. Submission, provider acceptance and delivery are different stages. Inspect the recorded delivery status rather than treating a submitted message as proof it reached the recipient.
